Walnut Canyon

Walnut Canyon was a hit. The girls loved combing the caves and imagining what it was like to live in the canyon hundreds of years ago.

Buffalo Park, Sedona Overlook, Mountainaire

We showed the girls around town.

Bought some Hopi jewelry.

Soaked in the scenery - I forgot how vast and beautiful Northern Arizona is.

And checked out some of the many houses and apartments we lived in back in college. Here is our little house in Mountainaire. We had some good times here, in fact it was here in the house pictured above, where I learned that copious amounts of red wine, Beef stroganoff, and the Hair musical should be enjoyed with extreme caution otherwise things get so crazy blurry that bathroom doors and bedroom doors look similar in the heat of the moment.

Ahhhhh, Flagstaff.

We made it up to the mountains for Geoff's 20th High School Reunion and showed the girls around our old stomping grounds. It smelled like home though we were a bit disoriented by Flagstaff's growth.

Cooling off at the garden

We inched from "shady" spots to "shady" spots and tried to stay cool until the Flashlight Tour at dusk. Adeline used the bird bath for a quick cooldown!

We saw round squirrels, scorpions, lizards, and lots of cacti!

Desert Botanical Garden

We went to the Desert Botanical Garden and we had the entire garden to ourselves!

One hundred and WHAT?!

Geoff and I had a great idea to see if our amphibious children could get out of the pool long enough to see how beautiful the Sonoran desert is.

Here are some pictures that capture the girls' reactions to the triple digit desert:

Arizona 2011

We took our pasty selves to the land of sun for our summer vacation. It was a whirlwind tour of Phoenix, Flagstaff, Friends, and Family.

We started our trip off basically soaking in the sun and pool for hours on end and then ate ourselves sick with Mexican food.
